A theoretical model has been developed to predict the behavior of thermosyphonic solar water heaters with heat exchanger.
The governing equations describing the operation of the system are numerically treated and a computer program is written to implement the analysis. Input data include the hour by hour meteorological conditions and various system design parameters.
At the same time experimental work has been carried out to check the validity of the model. The results show that the analysis predicts correctly the performance of the system, under various operational conditions, as evidenced by the agreement of the theoretical and experimental results.
